The U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) Directorate for Social, Behavioral and Economic Sciences is seeking leading candidates to fill the position of Division Director, Division of Social and Economic Sciences (SES) at NSF. The deadline for applications is September 11, 2023.

SES is concerned with the growth of our Nation through the provision of goods, services, opportunities, and well-being. The division supports research on how people collectively live, work, and prosper in productive businesses and other organizations. The new division director would have a particularly important role in developing a vision and implementing a strategy for NSF’s role in social and economic sciences, as well as managing the division’s funding programs.

NSF is looking for the right individual with leadership, management, and creativity. Ideal candidates would have a deep understanding and experience in social and economic sciences and have managed a college, department, or research center/large research project.  Applicants should preferably be from STEM fields (including the social sciences!) and have a Ph.D. degree.
