OIS leads the collection and public dissemination of all types of DHS immigration data; we lead data governance and promote data quality for the Department and the inter-agency; and we do a ton of immigration-related research for the Secretary and to support evidence-based policymaking. This is a really exciting time to work here, as the office has launched several new internal and public-facing reports and begun providing much more robust analytic support to DHS and White House leadership. The Department is supporting these new responsibilities by authorizing a total of 10 new positions this year (more announcements coming soon), but it only works if we get good applicants.
