A 2021-2022 Chitwan Valley Family Study Webinar Series event.
William Axinn and Dirgha Ghimire, Research Professors, Population Studies Center, ISR, University of Michigan. Sabrina Hermosilla, Research Investigator, Population Studies Center, ISR, University of Michigan. Heather Gatny, Research Associate, Survey Research Center, ISR, University of Michigan. “New CVFS Data on the Transition to Adulthood: Web Panel on Sensitive Topics and Hair-based Cortisol to Measure Stress.” During the 2021-2022 year CVFS is launching two innovative approaches to measurement of key experiences in the transition to adulthood. First, with support from an NICHD R01 to study the consequences of parental mental disorders on their children?s transitions to adulthood, CVFS is launching a new web-based panel survey of potentially sensitive topics, including sex, contraception, sexual assault, alcohol use, and substance use. Second, with support from an NICHD R21 CVFS will launch a large-scale collection and analysis of young adult respondent?s hair samples to measure biological indicators of chronic psychological stress.
The webinar will be hosted using Zoom. Registration is required to attend the webinar.
The CVFS Webinar Series is a free research education program. The series uses the CVFS as an example to teach participants about the field of international population research in low-income and lower-middle-income international settings. Learn how to conduct research to 1) determine population dynamics across different populations; 2) predict the future of global population trends; and 3) test hypotheses across widely varying context and determine the limits on forces producing population change. Support provided by NICHD (R25 HD101358). https://cvfs.isr.umich.edu/webinars/
