2021 FCSM Research & Policy Conference

Due to COVID-19, FCSM will be held virtually.

The 2021 FCSM Research and Policy Conference will focus on Trust as the Cornerstone of Federal Statistics and Evidence Building, and the role of the Federal Statistical System in data collection and outcomes research that supports evidence-based policy making. The conference provides a forum for experts and practitioners from around the world to discuss and exchange current methodological knowledge and policy insights about topics of current and critical importance to federal agencies.

Presentations will address the following topics and conference theme from a research and/or policy perspective:

  1. Relevant and timely information, such as implications of the Coronavirus pandemic on the work and priorities of the Federal Statistical System.

  2. Data quality, such as evaluating changes to data collection mode, or communicating the quality of administrative or blended data

  3. Confidentiality, data access, open data, disclosure avoidance, or disclosure risk mitigation

  4. Advances in credible and accurate survey and statistical methodology on a variety of topics of importance to the Federal Statistical System such as:

    • Survey design and data collection

    • Estimation and analysis methods

    • Measurement issues

    • Geospatial statistics

    • Economic measurement concepts, techniques

    • Statistical literacy and communication of results

    • Use of multiple data sources, including linkage and coverage
